Welcome To Blackland Prairie

Blackland Prairie (BP) District Serving North and Far North Dallas

Who We Are:

Blackland Prairie District serves Scouting youth in Packs, Troops, Crews, and Explorers that attend private, parochial and public schools (DISD) in North Dallas/Far North Dallas. Our geographical boundaries include the area north of Northwest Hwy up to South Carrollton/Addison east to Central Expressway (Hwy 75) then west to I-35 excluding Richardson. We serve a diverse community and welcome your participation!

At the District level, Blackland Prairie is a group of devoted scouters that believe in the scouting program and its outcomes. We welcome your input, feedback and comments on how we can improve our programs, get the word out to our youth and adult participants. Click here for current leadership.

What We Do:

Blackland Prairie is known for our over-the-top events like Cub-A-Palooza, Webelos in the Woods, District Dinner, Camporee, and Twilight Camp; Merit Badge Clinics, youth training classes, youth advancement and growing Order of the Arrow Chapter, Makade Aki. The district relies on older scouts, Arrowmen and adult volunteers to provide our fun, unique programs. Our goal is to provide age appropriate, creative events in which our scouts can be a part of a larger community than their own unit. For upcoming activities, follow us on Facebook HERE.
