CTX2 - 13,000 In Attendance - You Missed a Good One!
Not only was CTX2 BIGGER AND BETTER than three years ago, logistics ran smoothly, no long lines to check-in, get in, or park. Kudos to the 400 adult staff and National Guard soldiers who made this event run so smoothly. Special shout out to Blackland Prairie's Service Area Manager, Michael Garcia, who ran the kitchen for staff; Aaron & Lallita Howell (T718) and Nancy Burke (T577) along with unit members who planned and staffed most of the Cub Scout Midway; the Makade Aki OA Chapter (Chief, Ben MacCarley, Steve & Theresa Kaualoku, & Gino Cishke) who brought out their dug-out canoe for hands on chipping and chiseling plus a WW1 exhibit complete with army tent, posters, and a WW1 soldier (Chapter Advisor Kip Lankenau). To celebrate Armistice Day, what we now call Veterans Day (the 100th Anniversary of the end of WW1), the Chapter offered a craft to CTX participants making remembrance poppies. Check out IHUB for photos or BP's Facebook page. And YES, there were plenty of activities for BOY SCOUTS - 3 climbing towers, a huge zip line, oversize games and 3 gaga pits which ran continuously. It was truly AMAZING!!!
