The Friends of Scouting Campaign represents 30% of the council’s operating budget. Throughout the year we provide a quality Scouting program to more than 57,000 young people, including nearly 13,000 disadvantaged youth through our Trevor Rees-Jones ScoutReach program. The youth in this program value the difference Scouting makes in their lives. Through Scouting, many are exposed to several firsts … first time fishing, first time camping, first time leaving their neighborhood, first time being respected by adults. The smiles on their faces as they catch their first fish or successfully set up their tent, the feeling of accomplishment as they learn how to tie a square knot, or the wonder in their eyes as a new world opens that they haven’t been exposed to before, is worth the investment you have made.
Your gift is very important to us. The Circle Ten Council, and its executive board, have made commitments to these youth. A commitment that we will provide the leadership in their schools each week, that we will take them out of their world and into a world where they can fish and ride horses, that we will provide them a better option for their future.
Every donor gets involved for a different reason, but we are all working toward the same goal of preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
We want you to know that your gift is making a difference in both the quantity and quality of the local Scouting program. Thank you for your support of the Circle Ten Council and the young people we serve.
